Dog on street left outside and barking all the time

Hi,

The people who live a few houses down have a dog and for the last week I have seen it has been left outside tied up in the garden. I WFH and it barks all day and every so often I hear the owner scream at it to stop barking. It has been barking for the last hour too so is still outside. I walked past the other day and noticed it’s very skinny too, ribs showing. It is a greyhound type but definitely seems skinnier than normal. Is there anything that can be done?

Report to the RSPCA if you are concerned. They will do a visit.

RSPCA or Sspca if you are in Scotland. (Though from what I've heard RSPCA aren't as proactive in helping as Sspca)

Agree RSPCA and possibly contact the council about noise nuisance.

Short term buy noise cancelling headphones.

You can't be the only person affected? Hopefully other neighbours will (also) complain.

Mean fuckers. Why do people get dogs if they can't be bothered to look after them.

No. Not the RSPCA. Report it to the dog warden at the local council. Its a noise complaint and the deal with it. Make a note of dates and times it barks to back up your complaint.
