DD anxiety ramping up

Just looking for any advice.

My DD has Long Covid. She has had a lot of stomach pain and bad fatigue. This has impacted her attending school. She gets very over tired and sometimes it is like dealing with a tired toddler. I have MH issues myself and have found it really difficult at times dealing with her. I'm getting really overwhelmed dealing with it.

She has low Vit D and is taking tablets for it. Aside from that we are waiting for a paediatrician appointment.

She has done really well this week and gone into school the full 4 days but reduced hours. However, her anxiety has got really bad. She has been crying going into school and had to have a pastoral care teacher take her in. She was crying when she came out today and just so exhausted. Her teacher told me she has been worrying about if I am ok while she is at school and getting upset. Last night she told me she was worried I was going to die. 🙁

The anxiety around school started after the first Lockdown and then became worse after she had Covid. It is just getting worse and worse. She is terrified to go to after school care and on a school sleepover too. She said she doesn't want to be away from me. I don't know what to do. It breaks my heart seeing her like this and I'm scared how much it is affecting my MH. Any advice much appreciated.

Has she been referred to CAHMHS? Or whatever it’s called. We had some sessions with them which were useful for anxiety. We were recommended this book which was good.

No, not been referred to them. How did you get the referral? I will have a look at that book, thank you.

We self referred to CAHMS but I think school might have referred also because DD has been struggling to attend school. We are just about to start sessions with them so I can’t tell you much.
I can tell you the GP was totally useless.

I’ve actually been out tonight, first time in years. DD rang after an hour asking when I was coming home crying. It’s exhausting.

Thank you. I will talk to school about a referral. Oh, I'm sorry. It absolutely is exhausting.
