Child's birthday, is this okay?

My dd turns 7 at the end of May, she has said she doesn't want a proper party this year.

She'd like to invite 5 girls over for a play in the house and garden. However there are only 10 girls in the class (and only 4 boys, small school), so would others see this as leaving people out?

I do know one girl had 2 others for a birthday earlier in the year but I worry once you get up to as many as 5 you need to invite everyone?

If on the other side I'd have no issue unless it was solely my dd being excluded and for all I know other people may have already done it.

Thoughts? Please be nice,

I think if you are inviting less than half the class and half the girls that should be ok.

children do learn not everyone can go to every party. In my view it’s wrong if one or two are excluded from a whole class

If only 10 girls including your DD that’s 6/10 at the party and 4 left out. I would be saying ask 2 friends or all the girls with such small number’s.

It's fine 9 of the kids aren't invited. I don't get why you're more worried over 5 girls than the 4 boys.

It’s fine, she’s old enough to have developed closer friendships and she should be listened to, it is her day after all!

Are the girls in two distinct friendship groups (or indeed a mixture of girls and boys, buy your DDs friendship group is 6 people?)

It would be meaner to miss a couple of close friends to be 'fairer' to the whole class, than inviting slightly more than half to accommodate a whole friendship group.

Snall class doesn't mean they are all friends. My DD had a similar size party and it was perfect, but in a class of 30 it was definitely a small group.

Just girls is fine
