To be so gutted our trip of a lifetime cancelled...

We saved for years for a trip of a lifetime for our family. (We are older parents of teenagers so not much scope left). The trip may go ahead next year, if and when the country opens its borders) but that means no trip or holiday this year. I know it sounds pathetic when so many people are struggling to get by, but we have literally lived on nothing and saved for years for this! A UK holiday just won't cut it, and we can't spend on a summer holiday in Europe.

Oh no! That is really disappointing!

I suppose if youve saved for years then 1 more wont make much of a difference?

RumpoleoftheBaileys · 20/04/2022 22:18

Where is it to?

Marchmount · 20/04/2022 22:19

Where are you wanting to go? Assume Australia or New Zealand. Is there nowhere else you want to go for your big adventure? Depending on ages of kids etc I’d be tempted to do something this year rather than waiting.

It is gutting. We had a trip to Australia booked for the same week Australia closed its borders in 2020. Looking at prices now along with cost of living increases and pay freezes, im not loving in hope we will get there any time soon.
