I have done the same and Gained even more! I’m so so unhappy.

Solidarity girl 😞

Chely · 20/04/2022 18:18

I don't know anyone who doesn't yoyo a bit. It's all about how extreme it can be.
I've got about 20kg to lose after lockdown and pregnancy gains, a bit dissapointed in myself but never mind. Slowly coming off again.

HowManyDogs · 20/04/2022 18:19

Yep me too! 5 years ago I lost 5 stone, it's all gone back on😖

Nephilim77 · 20/04/2022 18:22

Ditto. Lost 3st, then lockdown happened, put it all back on and now struggling to find the motivation to do it all over again! So angry with myself! It’s so disheartening…

Toottooot · 20/04/2022 18:22

It’s hard and you hate yourself for doing so. It’s even harder to get back into the mindset to do it again.

SageCardy · 20/04/2022 18:23

I hear you.

I swear my headstone will read

'Here lies SageCardy.

Finally managed to lose weight and keep it off'

Wtfff · 20/04/2022 18:26

I did it for 12 years. Up, down, even bigger, loose half, gain it all, lose a stone... My whole life was a diet :(

Gastric sleeve 3 years ago and kept it all off.

CambsAlways · 20/04/2022 18:28

Lost 29 pounds in year! And I’ve put 7 pounds on! So cross but carrying on trying to lose

Fatperson22 · 20/04/2022 18:37

Selfishly glad it isn’t just me!

It's not just you, lots of us do it.

Don't be angry at yourself decide why it's happened.

I'm.not going to tell.you to stick to your preferred diet, you know. How can you make it easy for yourself etc.
Chocolate crisps ice cream are not your friend they won't make your partner less of a dick and won't solve any work problem you have.
Junk food, is lke drugs & alcohol , addictive. The feeling of your next fix is overwhelming. Fight that feeling, go for a walk, play on your phone.
Eating the not good stuff will just give you angry and upset thoughts. You deserve to feel healthy

OldieWordly · 20/04/2022 18:43

Three times over a couple of decades I've lost between 5 - 7 stones. Each time I've said to myself I will keep the weight off.

But then it creeps back up and I'm at square one, or heavier than when I started.

Like being tall or short, black, white or anything else, I have to resign myself as being naturally fat rather than the ideal of being slim.

To this day, the constant worry about what I should or should not eat, gives me anxiety when food shopping. Often, I'll buy what is best for me, only for it to go to waste or end up in a food bank when possible.

If I hadn't started yo yo dieting, I would still be a larger person, but not as big as I currently am and not have such anxiety with food choices.

HelpIcantfindaname · 20/04/2022 18:44

5 years ago I lost 10 stones in 10 months.
I loved the new me. I was so much more confident. So much fitter. I could buy nice clothes.
I have put 9 stones back on. Hate myself for it.
Ive always yoyod a bit, but putting that back was ridiculous.
Ive rejoined SW a few times in the last few years but my head hasn't been in the right place. Joining SW tomorrow, again, & MUST stick to it. I need to be fitter.

apricotlane · 20/04/2022 18:46

Throw the scale away forever and try something different and never eat food that you don't want to because someone else told you too. Maybe not caring will calm it down. Binge-eating and dieting destroys more people than it fixes. Live your lives and aim for relative health. All the dieting industries are predatory.

Laiste · 20/04/2022 18:51

I've yoyo'd, but to be fair to myself it's often when i've had a baby.

My last big weight loss was in 2007/8 and kept it off till 2014 when i had DD4.

Since then i've made a few half hearted efforts but no actual successful loss to ruin ...

I've just started yet another diet

So true.

I was weighing myself every day and at the same time the pounds were creeping back on.

HowIsItMarchAlready · 20/04/2022 19:01

I haven't got much to loose (10 pounds tops) but I'm back to strict calorie counting as I want to be a size 8 again for our summer holiday!

CounsellorTroi · 20/04/2022 19:07

Lost 2st 10 years ago, regained it all and more. Solidarity.

Firkinhavinalaugh · 20/04/2022 19:13

Lost 18lbs, gained it all back during lockdown and 12 more “friends” too.

It makes me so cross with myself!

Fawncard · 20/04/2022 19:15

It's not you. Diets. Do. Not. Work.
95% of people who lose weight by dieting will regain the weight within a short period and 80% of them will regain an average of an extra stone on top of their original weight.

Why do you think weight watchers, slimming world are such successful businesses?
It's not you. You are set up to fail.

Look into intuitive eating and start loving your body for what it does not what it looks like. You are perfect as you are.

HairyScaryMonster · 20/04/2022 19:28

I watched a ch4 show and they were saying to be proud you lost it in the first place, the benefit to your health is real even if you've got back to square 1.
