How to over come jealousy

I get so jealous. I have two old friends we use to be similar but over last ten years we grown apart. One has a high flyer career and is off travelling the world. The other has a steady career and a large friendship group. I have a dd with Sen , my life's quite limited and we have little money. Dh is a bit of a recluse and can be grumpy so he brings me down. I bought a dog for company and I'm really struggling to train him he's exhausting. I'm so fed up and I listen to my friends talking about their lives and I want to cry.

We all make our choices in life OP, you made the decision to marry and have a child, which I appreciate isn't easy bearing in mind the SEN. However, maybe these friendships have run their distance, and it's time for you to make new friends who have similar lives to your own, this might also stop you feeling isolated. You sound a bit depressed to be honest, which is probably why you're struggling to train your dog, but you took on the responsibility, so you MUST follow through, for every one's sake, and most especially the dogs, after all it didn't ask you to buy it. If you haven't already, I would suggest that you go and have a chat to your doctor, they'll probably give you some tablets, which will make all the difference, and then once you can see the wood for the trees again, perhaps it will be time to reassess what you want out of life, after all, it's never too late to learn something new, if that's what you want, but sitting moaning and feeling jealous of others who have obviously put themselves out to train for careers, won't get you anywhere I'm afraid. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but if you want the nice things in life you have to work for them like your friends have done.
