To think ferritin level of 25 is low?

Been feeling particularly tired (on top of a health condition I have that causes fatigue). GP tested my ferritin, said it's within the lab range but worth supplementing still. Is my tiredness likely to be caused by this?

Yes. Normal is not the same as optimal.
Mine is 24. Nice guidelines say to treat if under 30! I’m exhausted.
I bought some ferrous fumerate myself, I’ve had it prescribed in the past but really don’t have the strength to discuss getting it prescribed & it’s cheap enough. Many women suffer if ferritin is under 90, although someone else posted that a level of 100 is better.

Yes. My 13yr old daughters is 8, she’s been feeling terrible for ages

Mine is 17 and gp thinks that is normal?! Worth mentioning my vit d is 15 so I've been given a high dose supplement for that but nothing for the ferritin level. I also have a health condition that causes fatigue so I feel absolutely done in right now.

70 is bottom end of healthy.

Plus good vit d, b12, folic acid and magnesium are all part of the puzzle. Don't bother supplementing folic acid or b12 until you know your numbers.

Sorry, I've found it's a full time job trying to get all these numbers up

Mine was 6 when I had blood tests a couple of weeks back.

I felt better surprisingly quickly after starting ferrous fumerate, but I feel like it's plateaued a bit now and I'm not yet back to normal.

Mine was 13 last time I had it checked and I have very low energy reserves. 25 sounds low to me.

It takes 3 months to build iron reserves up, so keep taking the tablets and hopefully you will feel better soon.

Mine was 5 when it was tested last month, I feel rubbish but I am also recovering from chemo x
