Rejected apology

After years of working in an irganisation and being highly regarded, I had a work investigation which came to nothing because I'd done nothing wrong. I was suspended (unfairly imho) for months. I've been back to work after the investigation found no action to be taken and there is a distinct atmosphere and I am being excluded from various conversations etc and am definitely persona non grata.

I apologised for the inconvenience caused to some of my colleagues, who I thought were my friends. to try to improve relationships (even though I've done nothing wrong) and had it thrown back in my face with a petty reply nitpicking parts of the investigation which is over and done with.

I feel like giving up.

Am IBU to tell them I retract the apology?

YABU just allow the nitpicking
YANBU tell them to stick the apology where the sun don't shine.

Don't tell them you retract the apology. You will look like the unreasonable one.

Sorry you are going through this hope it blows over or you find another job soon.Flowers
