Aibu: to think that the smarties egg is the best

Some of these Easter eggs are £10 + which I think is ridiculous.

The smarties egg has SMARTIES IN THE EGG like a little maracas of crunchy joy and it only costs £1.

How does it get better than that?

(Yes I've eaten my entire egg in 15 minutes, I'm sad and want more)

I'm torn. Smarties do indeed taste like cardboard, but chocolate inside the egg is a thing of pure joy.

We need decent eggs to have chocolate inside them.

My £10 crunchie one was pretty good.

Chocolate buttons egg for me. Or Maltesers.

Just had one tonight. Yuk! The smarties inside were lovely but the egg shell was not. Much prefer the buttons one for the same price.

You know what, I could get behind this IF the chocolate is loose in the egg. Wouldn't really work for a crunchy but smarties, buttons, rolls....heaven

Nah - Palm oil. We like the Lindt egg plus bunny (some of the Lindts have palm oil but not this particular one).

I got a Daim one and loved the crunchy bits in the chocolate

It sounds nice but I can't bring myself to buy Nestlé products because of how unethical the company is. It sucks because all the fun things are made by Nestlé, but they are pretty horrendous as a corporation. (Killjoy alert! )

I remember a couple of Easters ago ranting about how nearly all Easter eggs are shit now because they put the extra chocolate on the outside and how I would only ever buy Smarties eggs from now on because of this.

As a grown adult I considered it an important topic and I'm glad someone agrees with me

I agree, OP. The egg should contain the sweets, as in the olden days. I'm not a luddite - I can accept the addition of confectionery bits to the chocolate shell itself, and I can even accept if the sweets inside the shell need to be in a bag.

But an empty egg with an ordinary KitKat chunky shoved in the box? So disappointing.

Oh how I miss the days of a small plastic packet of jelly tots in a cheap egg- even better if it came with a mug

Unpopular opinion , I cannot hack Aero!! Bubbly chocolate doesn't appeal to me, makes me feel weird !

I do appreciate better choices should be made concerning the consumption of ethical chocolate BUT I didn't buy the egg it wa gifted so I'm not going to waste it !

It's just not something I would buy normally (which is why it's so fun !!!)

There is something so lovely and nostalgic about the smarties being in the egg. I don’t even like smarties much but YANBU
