I have way too much interaction with my landlord. I can understand initially wanting to make sure im not a tearaway or filthy dirty but once its obvious id expect less contact.
He regularly comes into check CCTV when im on hols with my permission (he has an issue with the neighbour) but also snoops around, i think, opens window in bathroom for condensation( I return to a v.cold house), threw slices of bread id left out for birds in the compost, tied a fence panel with my twine(its cheap but its about the principle). He also moved my rabbit hutch and diy pieces of wood to prop up the fence
I go away a lot so these things accumulatively bug me. I came back from holiday, went to the toilet seat and half of it flew off which was followed by the washer and bolt falling off...i think he mightve been cleaning it and it broke? I have no proof but ive been there 18m and know it was ok
He also text me early in my tenancy to say he was coming round to mow the garden. I came back to find it part mown. Im guessing it was too bumpy and time consuming?!
Anyway on Friday he text me to say the roofer was coming on Sunday 11am( i didnt need to be in but i was worried about the noise if i wanted a lie in) He didnt turn up...obvs which roofer would on bank holiday Sunday and then it was postponed to Monday 9am. I saw the broken and the new tile when i woke up at noon and there was a massive size difference so its been left but basically this has wound me right up having shenanigans on a bh weekend and its also our religious days when people in our culture fast and we want a lie in. My landlord is the same culture so should understand but i dont know if he just has tons of energy
Is this just his midlife crisis? He must come over once a month at least. I am a 31yr male so not scared but very irritated at the constant repairs that need doing. I think hes also protective as its his first let and he preferred a single person to minimise wear and tear. The house is also not that new. The previous owner was skint so laid down cheap carpet, self tiled bathroom with uneven tiles, silicone all over the place...cant think it needs that much protection!
Im just pissed off with the toilet seat, open window, roofing debacle all in a week. Anyone else have this much interaction with the landlord? Im thinking of just moving out.
I havent even started on the neighbours who vandalised, stole my property in the back garden and the one asking me to move out (all this till the CCTV came in and they were forced/asked to back off)
