Feeling awful enough as it is with a massive temperature, constant cough which is making me vomit on occasion, body aches everywhere and covered in snot…
BUT the worst part is that I don’t think I’ll be able to go to work Tuesday to teach my class?
I don’t even know what the rules are and I e so much time off already for long Covid
Really worried I’ll lose my job

The rules for Covid should be the same for any other sickness now.....what’s your absence policy?

ManyATime · 17/04/2022 09:46

You will get better. If you are sick you need time off. Don’t think about it. It can’t be helped. Try to rest and relax.
Surely you won’t lose a teaching job. That sounds unlikely.

Your school should have a policy in place for this.

I think that the current guidance is testing from day five and two negatives on consecutive days.

How are people testing?
Buying LFTs online that arena available for nearly a week?
Luckily I have a box left over but I don’t understand how people have all these tests available to keep testing for 2 clear days.
I guess I’m worried firstly about missing the first week back and leaving the school in the lurch but also very worried about how unwell I could become with this after the last stint.
I wasn’t fully recovered when I went back but I had no choice as it had been months and I needed some kind of normal.

I’m nhs....we still get lfts free...I know loads of other people who stockpiled before they stopped posting them out....they’ve got 10 to 15 boxes each for future use ....that’s probably how lots of people are able to test....if you are too sick to work then you stay home....I wouldn’t worry about work

Can your school get some to you if needed? Got a friend or neighbour who might give or sell you a box?

You are no good to your class or colleagues sick, and if you have covid, everyone would rather you stayed away!

You're not "letting anyone down." The best thing you can do for your school now is rest and focus on making a proper recovery. If you become ill with it, that is completely beyond your control.

You won't be sacked for this - it really cannot be helped and there's a recruitment crisis!

Hope you feel better soon Flowers
