Please help me find this 90s kids programme!

This has driven me mad for years, and every so often I make an effort to track this programme down!

When I was a kid in the 90s I watched a TV series. I think possibly it was on CITV after school, but we only had 4 channels back then and it could have been on one of the others (I wasn't one of the lucky kids who had Sky sadly).

This was a short TV series, not a long running one. Probably only about 8 episodes.

It was about a boy who accidentally got transported to a different world or land (I think by electric shock or some kind of accident took place or explosion).

The world he was transported to was not modern and was quite old fashioned.

There was a girl there that he made friends with (blonde, tatty clothes).

He had a yellow Walkman and she loved it, and music seemed really unusual or foreign to her, and she loved to listen to it.

Finally they managed to get him home by rigging up some kind of wire and (I think) waiting for it to get hit by lightening or something similar.

But before he left he gave her his Walkman.

This was a live action, not a cartoon.

I want to watch it again and it's driving me mad that I don't know what it is!!!! Help!!!

The Girl From Tomorrow?

ScrambledEggForBrains · 15/04/2022 07:27

Sounds a lot like “back to the future” but that was a film in the 80’s

ZellyFitzgerald · 15/04/2022 07:31

Not either of those. Definitely a kids TV show, not a movie.

@ZellyFitzgerald there was a second series of Spellbinder but it wasn’t shown in the U.K. (some scenes were shown in the opening credits) I don’t know if you’d be able to track that down

That must be a Mumsnet record. Usually these threads last for days Grin

Now wondering how the Walkman kept going. Had the right batteries been invented in the girl's world?
