Positive opk at 10 days?? Is this right?

Hi everyone,

I'm completely new to ovulation tests as only stated using them this month. Did my first one today and I had a positive but I'm only 10 days into my cycle. Is this right?

The line wasn't the strongest ever but it definitely wasn't bad.

My cycles are usually around 32 days long.

Please can anyone advise if this is normal/right? Thank you 😊

That is negative. For a positive opk the test line needs to be as dark or darker than the control line. Keep testing! Hope this helps

@Amipreg1

Omg thank you so much!!!!
I just saw the line and thought it was positive!! Thanks again x

Download the premom app. You take a pic of the test every day and it will give you a reading of what your lh level is

@irishfarmer

Thank you,
I'm going to download it right now x

As PP has said that's negative but continue daily testing and you'll see it get darker until its as dark as or darker than the control line then that's when you're positive:-)

Regenbogen22 · 15/04/2022 14:02

You might end up going through a lot of these tests so try to order the cheapy strips, i.e. not the ones in a plastic case. They're just as good and way cheaper. I used to buy in packs of 50 for very little money off Amazon.

And yeah, a positive OPK is when the test line is as dark or darker than the control line. That indicates that your LH is high and ovulation should follow in 12-24 hours, so get busy for several days after that first positive OPK!

Thank you everyone.
I have been testing for three days now. Today my line is much fainter than the previous two days?!! Does this mean anything? I've been doing them same time every day x

They can vary. When you get a positive it will be obvious though. Until then mine were faint, fainter, then faint again.

turkeylegs · 15/04/2022 15:03

@Regenbogen22

How strange! Thank you xx

@turkeylegs have sent you a PM

Positive ovulation at 10 days is not uncommon but it would generally mean a cycle of 24 days or so (fully within the normal range).

If you are 32 days you’d expect to be 18 days or so.

The line generally appears, disappears, gets lighter, darker etc .. until ovulation. You really can’t read anything into it until it’s “positive” (ie as dark as or darker than control line).

irishfarmer · 15/04/2022 17:16

Mine were super faint until I got a peak. As pp suggested buy yourself some cheap ones off on amazon too for your next cycle, I presume you have enough this cycle. I used easy@home. You'll save a fortune!

turkeylegs · 17/04/2022 10:16

Hi everyone, I'm back.

I've tested every day since day 10 still.
The past two days the lines have practically disappeared. My app says I'm in my fertile window now with ovulation in the next couple of days.

I'm worrying now why I did get much stronger lines on day 10/11 and then practically nothing!! X

thewhatsit · 17/04/2022 10:39

The strength of the line is honestly irrelevant until it becomes positive.

turkeylegs · 17/04/2022 10:46

@thewhatsit

Thank you, I kept thinking I was on my way there!

This is mine, they were very light before I got my peak/ high. My peak was also very low compared to some others.
