To go to urgent care?

For suspected dvt (even though I'm almost positive it's not)

Backstory is I had previous pulmonary embolism and diagnosed with Factor v Leiden which makes me more like to have blood clots. Not currently on thinners. Overweight and has Covid 3 weeks ago.

A few days ago had some pain not bad in my calf, this has since gone more or less but now have some intermittent pain (not really painful as such but throbbing occasionally) in my thigh.

I do have a history of health anxiety and the thought of waiting even to get a drs appointment is making me really anxious. Aibu to just go to urgent care

DD had a blood clot in her lower leg after Covid, but the pain was horrendous.

I'd get it checked.

Call 111 and they may well be able to book you an appointment for today. Or they'll send you to urgent care but it can be quicker if they've sent you than if you just turn up

Previous PE, clotting pathology, overweight and recent COVID is a massive combination of risk factors and makes DVT very likely. Please go.

bloodywhitecat · 13/04/2022 13:24

Go or at least call and see what the surgery recommend. DH had signs and symptoms of a DVT, he was messed about by the hospital and 10 days later had a stroke.

DontStopMeNow7 · 13/04/2022 13:27

Go to 111 and fill out the online assessment. Hopefully you will be given an appointment today wherever it is deemed most appropriate. Get it checked today.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 13/04/2022 13:27

I'd go. DH had a DVT after a long haul flight years ago and had no pain, the only sign was a swollen leg. His leg swelled up last year so I took him straight to A&E but luckily this time it was just fluid from a knee injury.

EmergencyHammer · 13/04/2022 13:56

Thank you all I have just got there so hopefully they will take me seriously

How are you OP?

EmergencyHammer · 13/04/2022 20:39

The doctor was more than happy for me to have gone. He didn't even examine me he's just took my word and with the fact I have several risk factors, ordered a sonogram for tomorrow, and has put me on blood thinning injections in the mean time in case it is a clot

Thank you for asking :)

I'm really glad you were seen and they took it seriously. Fingers crossed for the all clear tomorrow, but it sounds like you're in the best possible hands regardless.

EmergencyHammer · 13/04/2022 20:57

Thank you! Me too. I hated to think I was wasting their time but he had no qualms about making sure I was seen.

Yes go, don't mess around with potential clots.

EmergencyHammer · 14/04/2022 15:05

Update: had a scan and was no clots
