WIBU to glance at loud giggler?

Was in the library this afternoon and heard two girls giggling quite loudly at something on one of their screens.

They were behind me and quite a few feet to my right, but I took a glance at them and the nearest screen in curiosity and the one nearest to me gave me a disapproving look. So, WIBU to look at them?

What a non event. I can't believe you even posted about it Confused

That's enough Internet for me today

TigerLilyTail · 11/04/2022 16:23

I know what you mean!

The other day, I was in the supermarket and a woman brushed past me and said excuse me, but it was the way she said it, you know? Like "Excuse me". It was a BIG deal!

SevenWaystoLeave · 11/04/2022 16:23

She probably thought you were giving her a disapproving look. I await her imminent post "AIBU glancing at someone who glanced at me".

I got served the wrong donut today. AIBU to go back and complain? Fyi I've already eaten it.

You should probably log it with the police.
phoenixrosehere · 11/04/2022 16:28

I would have looked at them too considering it’s a library where you’re supposed to be quiet. Same that you would do if it’s a group of people talking loudly in the quiet zone of a train.

Danikm151 · 11/04/2022 16:29

This seems like a clutching at straws AIBU just to post something. Sorry.

moonbedazzled · 11/04/2022 16:30

I would have looked. And frowned or raised an eyebrow. I take no prisoners. 😂

The quality of thread on here really is shit these days.

Tyrozet · 11/04/2022 16:31

It's not meant to be a quality thread. I'm just curious as to others' opinions.

AIBU not to give a shit?

TulipCat · 11/04/2022 16:33

Our library doesn't have a silence mandate anyway. Only in an academic library would this be considered a thing.

WhatTheWhoTheWhatThe · 11/04/2022 16:34

Opinion on what though? Literally nothing happened!!

RegardingMary · 11/04/2022 16:35

If this is the only thing that's concerned you today you've got a very charmed life.

EmergencyHydrangea · 11/04/2022 16:38

libraries don't really care about silence anymore

Mouk · 11/04/2022 16:39

Total non event. The world needs more laughter.

It would be worse if they were crying.

Comedycook · 11/04/2022 16:39

I have no opinion, unless apathy counts?

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 11/04/2022 17:01

It's the thin end of the wedge, an inappropriate glance in a library can quickly escalate into shaking of heads, deep sighs, huffing and puffing, and culminating with a slammed tome of Shakespeare which is then left, discarded on the reading desk.
It sounds like you were lucky today but do take more care in future...

Hopspinach · 11/04/2022 17:05

This is the most English thing I've read all day!
