Does anyone else find this exhausting/ stressful / draining?

I've spent the weekend with two lovely child free friends who I've known for years. They're both child friendly and love my toddler DC however I find bridging that gap between being "mum" and friend whilst I'm with them so hard. I would have preferred to see them separately when my DC were sleeping etc as felt like I was on mum/ parent mode whilst they were chilled out onlookers, and I couldn't relax and join in conversations with them in the way I'd like to. Does anyone else find this scenario particularly stressful?
