To feel guilty for doing nothing

I teach and Easter holidays have just begun. I am exhausted and just want to relax but feel guilty! The weather is nice today and I should probably head out for a walk....... does anyone else feel guilty just lounging on the sofa all day watching telly?

Do what you want! There's no 'should' about it, relax and enjoy. You can venture out if you feel like it in a day or two.

Haha I know what you mean. But you deserve it! Take some time to recharge Brew

HotChoc10 · 11/04/2022 10:25

Don't do it every day of the holidays or you'll feel like you've wasted the time off. But nothing wrong with taking a day to refresh yourself - teaching is hard, being 'on' all the time in a classroom is hard, all the extra admin and bureaucracy is hard. You deserve a rest!

Hello OP. Are you me? I'm a teacher and it's my first day of the hols, too. I decided I wouldn't waste the Easter hols but here I am, still in bed in PJs scrolling Facebook, TikTok and Mumsnet. I've decided I can have until 12pm then I'm going to be productive. It's a lovely day, I might head out for a walk :-) Enjoy your break. This term has been the toughest in my career (and I've been teaching a long time!)

Well it's been a lovely day, and I did head out... to a friends house to sit on her sofa and chat!
I'll call it a self-care day❤️
