Mint Velvet is the name of the store, not the material. That aside, nothing wrong with velvet. I have a gorgeous velvet evening coat which looks amazing. OP - nothing wrong with your outfit. Sounds casual and comfy.

Yes Mint Velvet is a brand, nothing is velvet! They have some nice stuff. I love Veja trainers, it sounds a bit weird with a trench coat though....

Leggings belong only in the home or for sports unless you are at least 5'10" amd weight under 8 stones

It's a lovely look, don't over think it.

Only thing I'd say (being your mothers age) is, is your footwear suitable for where you're going. Here it's very muddy everywhere!! (Also it's very windy & cold still, despite the sun looking very pretty!)
