Anyone had smell and taste affected by Covid?

I had Covid last year, nothing major, I worked from home and carried on as normal. The only real sympton I got was I completely lost my taste and smell which was quite an odd sensation.

Couple of days later that changed from being able to taste and smell nothing to everything smelling of pure hell.

If someone was cooking I had to hide upstairs, it was unbearable. The taste of things was just as bad, I don't think I ate for about 10 days because it was nauseating. Even toothpaste was foul.

Luckily it did get better after a couple of weeks and my smell and taste returned to normal however every time I've had a cold since, I've got this horrible smell and taste thing along with it.

Has anyone else had the same?

I can smell vinegar from 10000 paces. And vinegar is in a lot of things. It’s getting better now but like you a recent cold brought it back.

I only had covid recently for the first time. I was left with a weird metallic/acid reflux taste for maybe up to a week afterwards. I'm hoping it doesn't make an appearance when i grt my next cold, it was horrible.

Yes, lost it completely. Then some things tasted and smelt strange. All fish smells rotting, stuff that should be bland, bread etc smells earthy. I've just had a heavy cold and needed antibiotics because of infection/inflammatory markers.

I had covid very recently (2 weeks ago). I haven't lost any sense of smell, but certain things taste weird. Chocolate makes a burning sensation on my tongue like when you scald your tongue on hot tea. Sparkling water tastes incredibly sweet. I've also got the acid reflux thing too. Like heartburn. Hoping it goes away soon.

I got Covid about 2 weeks ago. Still can’t smell anything. Food tastes salty or sweet, that’s it! I’ve lost over a stone in weight because of it.

I had Covid in September. Lost my sense of taste and smell; it gradually came back over the course of a couple of months.

For the last month or so though, some things have smelled strongly of rotting onions to me, most upsettingly, my own sweat (and that of others, but that's less personal). I'm really struggling because the smell is so real and overpowering, but nobody else can smell it Sad
