Dh has, it seems, moved to the spare room permanently. He looks after baby max 1 hour a day, just playing with baby whilst I tidy up before taking dc to bed. I specifically changed her bedtime so he'd be able to do this.
DC3 is a very high maintenance nearly 1yr old. Have tried controlled crying before, worked very well, but all of a sudden a week ago dc decided even going near her cot would make her cry/scream.
Dh barged in and demanded then cajoled me into co-sleeping, i agreed because i thought baby needed some time with me, this crying was out of the ordinary . I did this for a week but she still wakes up multiple times a night crying and trying to crawl off the bed. Her naps have also been affected, she will sleep on the sofa, with me sitting next to her, if i move she wakes up either instantly or falls off the sofa when she wakes up. Naps for a short time. Previously for naps, id give her a bottle, cuddle and put her in the cot, walk out of room. She'd be asleep within minutes. No crying at all.
Today I decided to go back to controlled crying. She cried for 45 minutes at bedtime. And has woken an hour ago and cried/screamed herself to sleep. I've comforted her in between of course, and given her water. Dh texting me from other room offering to hold her. I said no as I'm following a specific method...no reply.
Am currently suffocating under the duvet typing this as baby's cot is in same room- i have neither the space or inclination to have her in a separate room yet.
YABU to try this method again, It's bloody awful listening to her and I keep thinking neighbours will bang on the wall or call ss.
YANBU DH doesn't have a say as he doesn't do much of the childcare anyway. For context, he's never offered to look after any of the dc at nighttime before. It's always on me
I realise I have a dh problem too. I have a lot of problems but this is right now and I'm at the end of my tether feeling guilty as fuck. Please be kind. Sorry its so long, didn't want to drip feed
