EDF saying sorry

Has anyone else received a 'sorry' email from EDF (or any other energy company) about the breakdown of website, app and phone lines due to huge numbers trying to give readings just before and after March 31st? It was a real 'mea culpa' moment and EDF have pledged to honour the old tariff up to the day you were able to give the reading IF that day was after 31st March.
I don't think it will affect bills that much over a few days but a nice gesture.
My electricity bill came yesterday and the meter must be wrong. Bill was 9.02 for 34 days and I've been home every day and night bar shopping and normal daily activity. I have, however been consientious about unplugging chargers even if they're switched off and doing laundry on 30°

I used the app a few days ago and the first thing I got was an apology saying that they'd honor metre readings if people couldn't submit them due to the system struggling on the last day of March
