Sleep training struggles 😭

I posted a few months ago (before namechanging) and tried everything suggested but I haven’t had any progress unfortunately. Just trying again to see if anyone knows of any other tips or advice 💜

I have a problem with my sleeping. The problem is that I’m a great sleeper and my body seems to love being asleep! Don’t get me wrong it’s brilliant in some ways- if I lie down and shut my eyes I’ll be sleeping in less than 2 minutes. I don’t fall asleeep unintentionally like with narcolepsy, it’s just if I close my eyes I’ll fall asleep straight away. I do have to be careful in the bath etc as if I shut my eyes for 10 seconds I’ll be sleeping immediately.

But The problem is waking up!!! I can never get up with an alarm. Ive tried extremely loud ones, vibrating ones, headphone alarms- NONE of them wake me up. Ive slept through smoke alarms, noise alarms, hoovering, music, tv, you name it i’ve slept through it.

I still live at home with while I’m at uni so my parents just wake me up by shouting and shaking me and they’re fine with it, but obviously long term I need a solution. It’s not like I wake up and switch off my alarm- I don’t wake up at all with it. The alarm just rings and rings and rings and I sleep through it.

I’ve tried to get up myself without the safety of my parents waking me up but I slept through and was late to work. I’ve practiced on days off uni/work and NOTHING wakes me up, honestly when I go to sleep it’s like I go into a coma!!!

Anyone else had this?? Does anyone know of any ways I can make myself wake up??😭

On a typical day, what time do you go to bed and what time do you get up?

What did the dr say? Things like sleep apnea might mean you aren't sleeping properly and are exhausted but I'm sure there's other things a sleep specialist can look at.

I fall asleep easily but wake up at 2/3 or 4 and find it hard to fall asleep again! I so want proper sleep !

Yes go to your GP and ask for a sleep clinic referral. That doesn't sound right at all.
