It’s was friends birthday today and a group of us were going out for a meal. She asked if I could make her a cake as baking is one of my hobbies. Of course I agreed. We spent the last few days agreeing on the flavour and decoration.
When I turned up there was another cake that she has ordered from a chain bakery. She sort of just laughed it off and said we can have two cakes, despite the fact there were only 7 of us and one cake would be more than enough.
It cost me a lot to make the cake, the ingredients were probably about £20. I commute an hour and a half for work and made it when I got back in the evening even though it meant being up until just gone midnight.
I know there is no point dwelling on it but I’m just upset and annoyed so I guess this is more of a rant rather than anything else. I don’t want to moan to another friend in case it gets back to her.
