To wonder if my DS will ever get hair …

DS is 16 months and all his little friends are sporting a head full of curls. Some have even had haircuts.

DS is still completely bald. He is incredibly cute but I am starting to wonder when he’s going to get hair!

Yes he will. Don't fret.

Ellyfin · 08/04/2022 20:14

I also wondered this about Ds1. He barely had any hair at all until he was 2. Even aged 2 there wasn’t much of it! But by age 3 he had a full head of hair. He’s 4.5 now and has as much hair as any other child his age so I’d say it will come eventually!

I didn’t have much hair until I was two: my mum used to desperately kirby grip ribbons onto my two little Homer Simpson strands. Now I have so much they book me in for an extra half hour at the hairdressers Confused

Grin I didn’t have much … but more than DS! He is so bald.

My daughter was virtually bald until she was 2

She is now in her 20’s and you could mistake her for Rapunzel

Bideyinn · 08/04/2022 20:19

My ds didn’t get a haircut until he was 3 1/2. He has loads of hair now

Cornishmumofone · 08/04/2022 20:22

DD was still at baldie at 2. She's now 5 and had thick waist-length hair.

Rory1234 · 08/04/2022 20:30

I was completely bald until I was 2. By my 3rd birthday I had long thick hair and as an adult am frequently complimented on how lovely my hair is. Maybe the slow start helped Grin

LouLou198 · 08/04/2022 20:52

Dd looked like she had a pixie cut at 3. It just didn't grow until she was about 3.5. It is still very fine but now about shoulder length.

Creamarrancardi · 08/04/2022 20:53

This is a relief. I did have visions of him starting school bald Grin

Dd had no hair she looked practically bald I use to put a stupid hair band thingy on to show she was a girl :) until she was 2 1/2 then it all grew in its thick curly and grows so fast she's a teen bow and forever changing it

Twospaniels · 08/04/2022 21:18

Awww of course he will.

I used to know a family who had two daughters who were very fair and virtually bald til they were about 5!
Then she had a son, and he had flowing thick golden curls from birth. He didn’t get a haircut til he was 4 and starting school as she just couldn’t bear to cut it having missed out with the girls 😁

Forshorttheycallmecomp · 08/04/2022 21:20

My daughter didn’t have enough hair for a hair cut until she was 3. She had hardly anything til she was 2.

Bramblecrumble21 · 08/04/2022 21:21

I worked in a nursery at this age. Some children had full thick hair, tied up etc. Some had little wisps. I'd say by the time he's 2.5-3 he'll have more hair.

cheninblanc · 08/04/2022 21:29

Dd2 and myself didn't have any hair till we were 2. It will grow

Mossstitch · 08/04/2022 21:59

My first had hardly any hair til two and he was a big boy, I've got photos of him in jeans and a denim jacket and he looks like Phil mitchell😂 when it did come through it was lovely and thick, don't worry 👌

museumum · 08/04/2022 22:03

My ds was bald till about 2 and then sprouted a fantastic head of tight corkscrew curls.

Montague22 · 08/04/2022 22:07

One of my was really late to get teeth- I wondered if they get them 😬

WhenDovesFly · 08/04/2022 22:10

I used to think that about DD1 when she was a baby. Everyone else was tying their baby girls hair in bunches or putting in little clips but my DD was virtually bald. She's now 23 and has thick dark hair down to her waist. It will come in its own time OP.

KineticSand · 08/04/2022 22:39

My Dd was bald then suddenly grew a mullet/ Mohican. No hair at the sides for ages. Normal child hair by 3ish.
