Has anyone else got massive adverts displayed across their screens so you can barely see the page? It's really annoying! Mumsnet can you do anything about this please?

RunnerDuck2020 · 07/04/2022 21:47

Yes! I was about to post the same thing, wasn’t sure if it was just my phone being weird. They’re taking up about 1/3 of the screen!

TorySteller · 07/04/2022 21:47

Yep, it’s so annoying!

Sunshineandrainbow · 07/04/2022 21:48

So frustrating

PurpleDaisies · 07/04/2022 21:48

Look on site stuff…

Illwithdisappointment · 07/04/2022 21:48

Yes! It's been worse today and I was going to ask the same thing..doesn't seem to be an 'x' to get rid of them either.

Justmuddlingalong · 07/04/2022 21:49

Yep. Same here. It's a total pain.

GoodSoup · 07/04/2022 21:49

Yes I’ve got some sort of clamping pods across the top third of my screen! And they don’t scroll!

I can’t see my reply box.

oioimatey · 07/04/2022 21:49

I have the same thing . it's a pretty shitty experience and renders the mobile website unusable.

Please see attached screenshot, Mumsnet. Even the advert is trying to tell you it's shitty!

They don't look like normal adverts either, there's pics of celebrities such as Kiera Knightly and Barack Obama!

OP posts:
MaryasBible · 07/04/2022 21:50

It’s awful. I’ve got an old lady at the top of mine. Dunno what she’s doing.

gamerchick · 07/04/2022 21:51

They're on it. There will be a ninja in there somewhere that needs sniffing out.

Gizacluethen · 07/04/2022 21:51

Yes! I was about to post the same thing! Mumsnet is turning into a shitty clickbait site at this rate, absolute joke.

GoodSoup · 07/04/2022 21:52

Now I’ve got an aeroplane in a forest.

JustJoinedRightNow · 07/04/2022 21:54

Yep! I’ve got a cartoon picture of someone pinching their belly fat, very bizarre. Can’t even tell what the ad is for.

DelurkingLawyer · 07/04/2022 21:54

If you are on an iPhone go to safari in settings, then advanced, then website data, and then delete website data for Mumsnet only (don’t use the big delete all website data button above the “advanced” button unless you want to have to log back in to every site you use).

This got rid of the huge banner ad for me although I did have to log in again.

LolaButt · 07/04/2022 21:54

I had the random old woman too. What a load of shit.

Mermaidwaves · 07/04/2022 21:55

And Meghan Markle with a man thats not Harry!

OP posts:
PurpleDaisies · 07/04/2022 21:56

I’ve got a pad lock necklace now. That’s new.

EstherMumsnet · 07/04/2022 22:03

Thanks for raising this - our tech team is looking into this already as several people reported this on Site Stuff.

Mermaidwaves · 07/04/2022 22:04

MNHQ this is making the mobile site unusable!

OP posts:
Lipsandlashes · 07/04/2022 22:05

Yes. Annoying as hell and also making the site really laggy

Mermaidwaves · 07/04/2022 22:06

Just saw reply, thank you!

I know this is an old thread but it's impossible to do anything as my page is covered with an advert just like in this thread

Earwegoagain · 11/03/2023 18:35

Same here @TequilaNights is there something we need to do to stop this @EstherMumsnet @MNHQ
