Baby swimming gadgets

So I've seen a lot of adverts online about baby swimming aids like floaties that go round their neck or ones where they float on top etc. DH thinks they're a great idea for our upcoming holiday, DD is 4 months.

I think they look a bit odd and we'll be judged 🤔

YABU - they are great and I'll provide some recommendations
YANBU they're weird- just hold your baby in the pool.

You won't be judged, but I've always found them a bit pointless. At 4 months old you're not going to let the baby float by themselves.

But it's kind of awkward trying to hold a floppy headed baby for half an hour or whatever in the pool so I do see where he's coming from. I obviously wouldn't leave her unattended floating about 😄

The neck floats look a bit bonkers.

We had a little rubber ring seat but she was older (i think they are 6 month plus?)
Tbh at four months you won't be in long enough to get tired holding them! If anything, take a little paddling pool, add a few buckets of water and let them lie and splash in that

I would be rather concerned about a neck float and a very young baby. I'd say the sit in ones are better then a puddle jumper when a bit older
