Advice on feeding 8week old

Sorry this isn't an AIBU posting here for the traffic as no response under parenting.

My DD is 8 weeks old, she was born weighing 5lb 5oz and is now 8lb 11oz so putting on weight well.

I need some advice on her bottles though. The last few days she seems to be constantly hungry. She's currently on 4oz bottles. She has been feeding roughly every 1.5-2hours during the day. I'm not sure if I should put her up to 5oz. The only reason I haven't is because sometimes she will down a 4oz and others it can take her an hour to drink it, as she stops drinking, takes a 20 min break then she's hungry again so then finishing her bottle. I know it's all trial and error but as a FTM I'm worried I'm doing it wrong!

So really just wanting advice on what the best thing to do is, not sure if to up her amount in the bottles or just stick to what she's on at the moment and continue with the feeding every couple of hours.

If it makes any difference she's in a bit of a routine at night so will have a bottle around 7-7:30pm then bed, wakes around 11:30/12 and will normally have either 2/3oz out of her bottle then wake again around 3ish do the same and then wake at 5am and normally will then have a full 4oz

Hi op, I’d just keep going until she’s had enough! Baby boy here is 12 weeks and I just give what he’ll have. You don’t need to follow the times and volumes indicated exactly- if baby boy wants more I give more! I don’t know if that’s the expert opinion but that’s what I do 😆 xox

Make 5oz - if she wants it, she can drink it. Make sure she is really really well winded during the feed too

@sjxoxo Thanks for the reply, I feel sometimes like I'm over feeding her but I'm clearly not as she wouldn't carry on I suppose 😂

In my opinion you can’t overfeed really- she will stop when she can’t go on! So take her lead. She’ll deffo refuse when she’s had enough- you’ll know. Maybe I’m a feeder though like my grandma 🤣 I live in fear baby boy is hungry so I’ll keep giving until he says no thanks! I’d definitely try and give her as much as possible before bed with the goal of getting as much sleep as possible xo

You can't over feed her don't worry. If she's finishing 4oz try 5, then 6 etc. Just keep going up an ounce til it feels right and then keep reviewing as she grows. They go up ounces quite quickly in my experience.
