PASSPORT HELP- TRAFFIC POSTING!

Well I f*ed up well and truly. Didn’t realise passports take 10 weeks now! Renewed my passport today then realised I lost it when I went to send my my old one off so now it’s a replacement.

Any chance on earth it will come within 8 weeks?!!!

Any experiences recently?

Yes IAU for posting here and for being a dick and not sorting this sooner.

DS'a first adult one took 7.5 weeks and that was with us providing proof of travel. Phone them as they are incredibly helpful.

Sent DS off for renewal (March), received new one within 3 weeks.

I sent ds’s off end of Feb, the approved photo we first submitted was rejected (even though on e site they classed it as good and got the green scale arrow). Even with the submitting a new photo delay it only took three weeks.

We still haven’t received his old photo back even though I paid extra for it’s delivery to be returned so don’t know how long they take to be returned. It’s making me anxious it not being returned yet..

Nearest fast track appointment for London was 25th. Just about works for me but jeez you used to be able to get an appointment within days

Sorry I only just saw this. You are supposed to write to the passport office where your original passport is and request that it be sent back to you then book an appointment because you can’t attend without the original document . Some of the hmpo call centre operators were saying it would be returned in 72 hours and others were saying it could be weeks. One said just go and take a letter requesting withdrawal. So I booked and went to my nearest office in Newport but they said the original document was in Durham. I freaked out then and the woman took pity and said she would book me in to Durham and make sure my kids original passport was taken down to the desk for my urgent passport appointment. It was a 13 hour round trip but it worked and 3 days later I got the new passport. The woman on the desk In Durham did say that they had changed the rules the previous day though to make it easier to cancel and go fast track….

Still waiting on receiving my DDs passport straight forward renewal done online mid Feb and sent old passport in straight away. It took over 2 weeks for acknowledgment of receipt of old passport that was sent first class recorded delivery.

We are at 7 weeks and counting still to receive her passport yet ... south England

I applied for a renewal three weeks ago and the new one arrived yesterday.

I am still waiting for my DS's passport renewal. It's still on processing. I applied 18th Feb online.
