Birthday celebrations

It's my birthday in a few days and I've decided to have the day by myself because of every single friend being unavailable! (That might tell me something ha ha!)

Seriously I've planned lots with them on other days around my birthday however this is going to be my new birthday tradition every year from now on so I get to do exactly what I want without having to persuade anyone else. Me me me? Well yes!

"I'll let you know"
"Sorry no" (blunt but this friend is autistic)
"I always go to church and to my sister's on Sunday"
"I've had covid so I forgot it's your birthday"

Anyone else have this? Thankfully I'm not a big birthday party person, just like to have it acknowledged.

After seeing many threads on here about MN'etters useless husbands not acknowledging their birthdays or simply not bothering their arse by making excuses, I would say that the only way you can have a great birthday is when you don't rely on other people. People are a let down.

Have a wonderful birthday Flowers

Thanks, I've booked a breakfast out at the restaurant I planned to go to with friends before they all had reasons why they couldn't come, then a historic house, and theatre. All by myself. I'm so excited!

Enjoy!
I’ve been single a long time and mostly embrace it
Recently went on holiday alone for a week to Canaries
I sunbathed, read, slept, drank lots of cocktails, swam and relaxed
Currently planning next birthday which will combine with holiday

I always plan that'll I'll have mu birthday on my own, usually I plan something I really want to do and then dh wants to come to which is nice. There isn't any resentment of what he should have planned which I often see on MN. Sometimes he works and I have a fab solo day

Enjoy it op
