To ask how you find an interior designer?

Besides the obvious googling which really isn't bringing anyone up in our local area. Any tips or tricks?

We are looking for one atm. The plan was/is:

• looking at their portfolio on their website/facebook to see who matches our style/taste best
• checked reviews
• made a shortlist
• contacted said people on the shortlist and asked for a quote
• we're setting up zoom meetings with 3 of them soon to see if we like them/what they think about our budget.

We don't live in the UK, and where we live designers work everywhere in the country; not sure if that's the case for the UK.
