Nose piercing infected

Had it pierced just over a month ago at Claire's (I know) they used a gun which is apparently not a good idea, I should've done more research.

Have cleaned it twice a day as recommended with the lotion they sold but I've had a huge unsightly bump next to the piercing now for around 2 weeks.

It's filled with pus, despite cleaning it hasn't budged. Feel like just taking the piercing out as I'm embarrassed to have this lump.

Have also had 2 occasions where i must have caught the piercing in my sleep, yanked it out and woken up with blood, managed to get it back in but rather painful.

Has anyone else has this issue after a nose piercing and did the infection eventually go?

I had a bump after a needle nose piercing. Probably not what you want to hear but it stuck around for at least a year. They do eventually go away, but I managed it in the interim with warm compresses, diluted tea tree oil and bio oil for any scarring.

Friends had the same and one day the bumps just seem to go. Worth getting it checked out but I went to several piercers for advice and they all basically said wait it out.

Ignore all the rubbish about lotions, saltwater, removing it, going to your doctor etc etc. I’ve just had one, best thing squeeze the pus out, wipe it with hand sanitiser, then hot water. Then when you go to bed just whack some Sudocrem on it thick, and it’ll be gone in 2 days. I am going through same issue, I had a black nose hoop in and it was irritating my nose so wanted to change to a normal sterling silver loop which doesn’t spin round, and getting it in was a nightmare. I managed after about an hour, but I dropped it on floor a few times trying. So although I used a face wipe it definitely wasn’t sterile. So it started to get infected. Long story short, it was fine on Saturday while I went out (had squeezed it and put makeup on it). Then on Monday it looked a mess. So I did nothing but leave it alone and apply Sudocrem. Day 3 now and it’s just pinkish but no lump, it’s fully gone. I’ve just had sudocrem on every morning (I work nights). So by night time the cream isn’t visible. Honestly try it.
