To smother my DSis with a pillow? (lighthearted)

My DBro is getting married tomorrow and I am sharing a hotel room with my DSis.

We get on great I love her to bits but we haven't shared a room since we were in our teens and I completely forgot she snores like a pig, mumbles in her sleep and makes a weird clicking noise when she's not snoring or mumbling.

She was out like a light by 11pm, I'm still awake, tossing & turning and we're up at 8am to get ready.

WIBU to smother her with a pillow so I can get some sleep?

Not unreasonable.
Or pay through the nose for another room!

I feel for you. I’m in the same position atm only I share with DD. I’ve managed to get about an hour of sleep but now wake up again.
I don’t think your approach will help , you would struggle to sleep for the rest of your life due to guilt. Try gentle tapping to get her moving maybe.

JenniferWooley · 02/04/2022 03:49

This is a very good point @greenlynx I am now weighing up whether the few hours of sleep I'd get tonight this morning would be worth the lifetime of guilt ridden insomnia.

The other option is to sneak into our parents room like I used to but at 43 I'm maybe a bit old to be clambering in between them 😂

If your parents are anything lie mine, that would be far worse than my sister snoring. GrinGrin

LuvMyBoyz · 02/04/2022 07:26

I’m a sister that snores. My sister and I started weekends away together (we live in different parts of the country) and only went once because she got no sleep for the two nights. I had a great time!

JenniferWooley · 02/04/2022 08:41

@Toddlerteaplease my mum has on occasion woken herself up with her snoring

@LuvMyBoyz I feel your sisters pain this is not an experience I'll be rushing to repeat

I managed about 2 & a half hours sleep but one of my sisters good points is she's good at make up so I'll be putting those skills to good use today what black circles

@JenniferWooley
Oh you deserve the best make up ever for your suffering. Hope everything goes smoothly today!
I had the fist night like this (about 3 hours of sleep) so gave up on the second one eventually and fall asleep using duvet over head technique.
Can I ask you about the clicking noise you’ve mentioned does your sister know what it is and why? My DD does the same and it drives me bonkers tbh.

JenniferWooley · 02/04/2022 10:04

@greenlynx I have no idea she's done it since we were kids.

Obviously when I mentioned moaned about it this morning she claimed not to know what I was talking about.

My plan for tonight is to drink enough wine so that I fall asleep first 🤣🤣

Maybe tonight will be less painful if you have a few drinky poos at the wedding? Seriously, the only time I have found. futons comfortable is with the addition of copious amounts of red wine I am applying the same logic to your Dsis situation. Grin

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 02/04/2022 10:27

Ooh, cross post Grin

greenlynx · 02/04/2022 10:43

@JenniferWooley
Thank you.
Good plan about wine!

I love this thread, just because it's nice to read something on here about siblings who get on really well. And it sounds just like me and my sister!

Hawkins001 · 02/04/2022 14:24

I've been told I snore quite loudly at times

JenniferWooley · 03/04/2022 04:50

The wedding was fabulous! Bride was gorgeous & DBro scrubbed up well in his suit. Copious amounts of alcohol was drunk, lots of laughter & a few tears (mostly from the very emotional bride).

I have managed a straight 4.5hrs sleep, DSis will live to see another day & my life savings won't be wiped out for bail money.

That sounds brilliant! Glad you had a good time.I'm awake with plain old insomnia and felt your pain!

DH and I have separate rooms because of his snoring and I am currently lying here stressed about the fact we are going to MIL next week and will need to share a small bed together. Every single time I fantasize about holding a pillow over his face! 😁. We are going for a a whole week.

I'm not sure both of us will survive...

You need Boots wax earplugs!
