Today I was trying to access my work building with my pass card. I was with a male colleague who doesn't work in the building and so doesn't have a card. My card wasn't working for some reason.
A man also working in the building (don't know in what role) came out of a side door and asked if we were having trouble. I said my card wasn't working for some reason, and he said to try it again. I said it wasn't working but I'd try. As I went to hold the card to the door, he said to my colleague 'it'll be because it's a woman', meaning that I didn't know how to work the card system. I gave him a less than pleasant look, and he said 'no, I'm only joking', and I said 'yes, I should hope so'.
I thought he was bang out of order, but AIBU?
