Am I being unreasonable to want my voice heard? Am I being unreasonable to say I would vote for next doors goldfish if they were up for election this time?I want to protest at what is happening to our country just to make me feel better.
Am I being unreasonable to ask you all to just this once to vote for anybody but the two main parties just to express that we all feel so let down one way or the other?
Just heard the £50 fines are being handed out to MP:s and this small thing has tipped me over the edge!!!!
I am just totally fed up for al of us being used as a social experiment and cash cows ...totally fed up
Seriously though does anyone know if we all voted for ,well anyone. what would happen ?Say Jo smith running for the pink party got 20 milion votes as an independant what would happen as presumably he couldnt run an entire council ward on his own?

ohsotired2022 · 01/04/2022 16:24

Can I ask if I really want to make a difference who should I vote for?
I'm desperate to get the tories out.
I live in Scotland and have voted snp big want my vote to count against the tories.
We all as a nation need to come together to get the tories out.
We're screwed if we don't.
They don't give a toss about the normal, decent, hard working person.

I’m impressed, this thread is over 30mins old but no one has appeared yet to say that it doesn’t matter that the Tories are lying, cheating, corrupt, Russian money-laundering literal criminals with the morality of an especially immoral alley cat because aT lEaSt BoRIS kNoWs WhAt A wOmAn Is Confused

I wouldn’t vote Conservative under any circumstances but I don’t agree with you over not voting for either main party - our Labour run council is mostly doing a good job and one of our LibDem councillors is very proactive and responds to queries very quickly and does all she can to help so I’ll be voting for her plus Labour candidates (I think I can pick 5, I can’t remember)

0blio · 01/04/2022 16:35

May's election is to vote in your local Councillor, it's not a general election.

I always vote for the same person as she does a lot for the local community but I would never vote for her party in a general election.

I won't be saying it, because the Tories have presided over a massive economic, social and legal shitshow since 2010 that includes destroying women's privacy, dignity, safety and sports and policing their thoughts - so the Tories can fuck off too.

I like the idea of good, strong, uncontaminated local independent candidates.

Seeline · 01/04/2022 16:36

In England at least polling day this May is for local Council elections. You get to vote for your local Councillors - the ones that sit on your local council committees which decide planning applications and who is going to run the local waste collections.

In national terms it really doesn't matter who the hell you vote for.

Hillarious · 01/04/2022 16:37

Of all people, it's clear that Boris knows what a woman is. He's experienced a large number of them.

Wow. Somebody pass me the Savlon for that burn @0blio

The point I was making wasn’t that any other party is especially better but Mumsnet seems to be awash lately with Tory apologists who are loving the fact that they have an ideologically and morally “pure” excuse to vote Conservative. They’re doing it for women’s rights, not because they’ve got fortunes to protect from tax and no souls to consider!
