Bulb meter readings

Posting here for maximum traffic.
I’ve just spent ages on the Bulb website trying to give them meter readings. There was a 15 minute queue to get into the site, and then when I tried to submit I got an error message telling me I couldn’t give them the reading and to try again in 24 hours. I ignored that and resubmitted multiple times but just getting the same error message.

Anyway, after giving up, I happened to look in my email and saw that I had about 100 emails from them thanking me for my readings.

So if you get the error message don’t waste time trying to resubmit, check your email and maybe the readings will have already been registered.

Hope this saves someone some time. The queue time for the website was pretty accurate btw.

Thanks for this. I tried earlier using the app, but got an error message. I took screenshots of my attempts and photos of my meters anyway, in case they try to overcharge me.

I submitted mine using an old email asking for meter readings. My electric is on smart meter, but I sent over my gas reading as it’s been estimated for a long time.

It’s a common problem with all energy companies today - I got an error mess with EDF.
It’s because Martin Lewis told everyone to submit a meter reading today so websites are crashing

I had this with Ovo. Readings have actually gone through. Took ages though.

Yep got the same thing with Bulb, although I was in the queue for almost an hour!

I noticed that the acknowledgement email wasn't the usual one though. It normally says something like "thanks for submitting your reading, as this is within 3 days of payment date we'll use these readings to calculate your bill" or something along those lines.

Why did ML email everyone at the same time? (Assuming that's why websites are crashing)

Why is their robot only available until 5:30?

I'm sure I don't even have to do anything as I'm pay-as-you-go but I won't know until I get into my account

posted on another thread earlier - there was someone from an energy company interviewed on radio 4 at lunchtime, saying that his copany would accept readings over the next few days, and he thought competitor companies would have a similar approach

I've just tried to do mine with eon but can't get online - they've put a message up saying you have until 9th April to submit your 31 March reading.

Because they've put my payment on pending on the app. They may still readjust it, they did last month, but if they are supposed to stick to march rates, then may have a fight on our hands.

They can't charge the new rates until 1 April, have you had a bill with your actual readings that uses the new rates? They'd have to have really messed up to do that.

Post a copy, then you've got proof

Had a bill in email and the payment is pending on the app, but not gone through yet until tomorrow. Its double what I paid last month so think its the new rates. Can't check for sure though, app is being useless as too many on it.
