Feel a bit uneasy and just wanted others opinion....

I'm 33f in shop buying lunch, ask cashier for cakes from counter. Guy behind me in queue (40s, in high vis work clothes for local council) says 'oh you buying one for me?' I said 'haha no these are all for me' turned away to pay. Left the shop without looking or speaking to him again. Got in my car in car park, getting seatbelt on an engine started and look up an the guys at my window. I opened it slightly and he says 'Got one for me?' I said no sorry I must have looked so confused an shocked an I just reversed out and away. But what the f&&k? He had work gear on so not like a beggar, was buying stuff in shop himself an could easily got a cake himself as they on counter next to till, just so odd and weird. I'm 33 but I always get ID so maybe don't look my age. He was definitely 40s at least. Don't like how he followed me to my car I was parked in corner not on a pathway so not like he was walking that way anyway for any reason

He fancied you.

He was just going about it in a weird way.

FrightorFlight · 31/03/2022 13:33

Creepy as fuck. I don't blame you for being freaked out.

So what? Is she supposed to feel flattered? Fucking hell.
YoYoYoYoSup · 31/03/2022 13:35

Weird. Trust your instincts with people like this. Lock your doors as soon as you get in your car - my dad told me this initially 20 years ago and I've done it ever since. He's a retired policeman.

Giveitall · 31/03/2022 13:35

Always always keep your antennae up!
Next time you go to that shop, enquire if he’s regular. They might know who employs him so You could consider reporting him? It was a bit stalker(ish) & very creepy.
If you see him again, look to see if there’s a logo on his jacket.
Stay safe.

Youdoyoutoday · 31/03/2022 13:35

Yeah that's fucking weird!!

Why do these men think this is OK?

ISayItLikeItIs · 31/03/2022 13:40

That's weird way to approach someone even if he fancied you.

What a creep.

yuck!

crazyhousefull · 31/03/2022 13:47

Omg thanks so much everyone, I was worried I was being a bitch!!

Even if he had fancied me, I gave him no impression at all I was interested in anyway at all for him to think ok to approach my car. Particularly as I wasn't even looking at him or my window where he approached

I am a young looking 33 year old - haha I know everyone says it but I literally get ID every single time I buy anything age restricted, and have even been tannoyed over forecourt for filling my car, even tho I had driven it in there!!😂😂 I would say he was late 40s possibly older.

He was wearing local council high vis and there was a council van the other side of the car park so pretty confident that's who he works for.

It's my local shop I was in but a new cashier serving me that I don't know.

I don't feel flattered at all I feel violated🤮

Is that what the poster said? The OP asked what people thought and the poster replied.

What's your point?
SucculentChalice · 31/03/2022 15:01

Some of these men do stuff like this as a bet with their mates. Based on the idea that women have been brought up to be "nice" so will just give them free stuff if they ask.

WomanStanleyWoman · 31/03/2022 15:52

What's your point?

What’s yours? Is there one?

My point was that it’s irrelevant whether he fancied her.

It’s like when boys push girls over in the playground and it’s minimised as ‘he’s doing it because he likes you’. Nah. Fuck that.

I still don’t know what your point was.

WomanStanleyWoman · 31/03/2022 18:45

I didn’t say it made it right, did I? You’re just inventing things.

You saying I’m inventing things is inventing things.
Xpologog · 31/03/2022 21:18

Definitely creepy. You brushed off his first comment and he didn’t take the hint. Following you to your car is OTT if innocent and creepy if not.
Don’t know if this would do any good but you could email your local councillor ( their details are easily found online) say what happened and suggest all council workers should display their names when in council gear / carrying out council work.
