The everlasting ulcer

Not sure if I should worry?

DD (8) has had a mouth ulcer for almost two weeks now and it won’t go despite regular applications of bonjela.

It started out absolutely enormous and raised and is much smaller now but fluctuates in size day to day, some days it’s so flat and small we expect it to be gone the next day but then the next it’s large and raised again.

The colour fluctuates too, one day it will the typical white ulcer colour, the next the same colour as the surrounding skin.

I’m starting to feel quite worried about it but don’t want to look like an idiot if I call the doctors for a mouth ulcer.

Are they supposed to fluctuate in size and change colour..?

My husband had this, the doctor gave him tablets that seemed to make it heal properly, they also got him to see the dentist to get it checked by them too.

@HotnSunnyRainbowRoses , did you get it checked?

I'm having similar ulcer for nearly 2 weeks.

My ulcers last for longer than 2 weeks. It maybe that he is poking it with his tongue as it is irritating him - that makes it hard to heal.
Check the age on bonjela as I didn’t think it was suitable for children. Have a look at Iglu gel.
