Any ideas wise people of mumsnet?

Woke up with this a week or so ago on my ankle. Does anyone have any ideas what could have caused it - I’m assuming it’s a bite. It’s since become infected so will be seeing doc tomorrow but in the meantime Google is throwing me nothing…

Must be an insect bite alright...I'm more fascinated by the idea that you will be successful in getting a Dr to look at it. Round here your leg would need to be hanging off before it would even be a possibility and even then you would need to redial the surgery repeatedly from 8.30 ....hope u get sorted

At first glance it looked like a white tip bite, but I'm guessing you are not in Australia

It does look like a nasty bite though.

Not in Australia but saw practice nurse this morning and thoughts are it’s a spider bite. Lucky to have been seen someone although she did insist I could have seen an out of hours GP by ringing 111 - we’d tried that and they hung up!
