Parking thread

I would like to know if I’m being unreasonable. We live in a terrace of 4 houses. I have drawn a diagram. Each has a drive House 1 and House 4 each have a second car so park on the road opposite their houses. I don’t have a second car. For the second time in the year and a half they have lived here House 2 have let their friends and family park outside my house for 2 weeks at a time so they can go to the airport by tube from here. They never park it outside their house and it makes it very difficult for me to get my car in and out of my drive. I’m in and out constantly for school drop off and pick up. This car has not moved for 2 weeks. It’s also difficult for House 4. Both of us are annoyed but House 1 thinks we are being unreasonable. I left a note when I didn’t know who it was and they answered saying they were parked legally and were not going to move it. They also added that there was a recording device in their car and they were recording if anyone damaged their car. What do people think?

If they are legally parked on the road which it seems they are then their is nothing you can do.

NerrSnerr · 29/03/2022 18:12

To remove the photos you need to report your post.

If they're parked legally there's nothing you can do. It's a public road and people can park where they want.

dfendyr · 29/03/2022 18:14

Agreed - if they are parked legally and are taxrd, then tough its a public road (not saying you cant be pissed off of course)

maddening · 29/03/2022 18:14

Who is Ken?

Jedsnewstar · 29/03/2022 18:17

Yanbu, maybe Ken is not ready for Vectors yet.

HomeHomeInTheRange · 29/03/2022 18:18

Tbe neighbour’s haven’t ‘let’ them, it is a road, not theirs to allow or not allow. The friends have simply parked there. Anyone could.

It is irritating though. But nothing you can do except lobby the council for a CPZ because people park for the tube.

Or you could park opposite House 2 rather than in and out of your drive all day? To make it awkward for them, Ha!

Walkingthedog46 · 29/03/2022 18:18

How long does a vehicle have to remain on a public road before the police consider it abandoned?

Juststopamoment · 29/03/2022 18:20

Homehomeintherange I did consider this but thought they might key my car so haven’t.

A bit irritating that they advise their friends to park opposite yours not theirs, but you know the answer to this one, it’s not your road.

Juststopamoment · 29/03/2022 18:21

Lucky those extra pics aren’t anything too personal! I’ve reported it. Thanks.

I’d return the favour by parking my car outside number 2 and suggesting number 4 does the same. Yes it’s a public road yada yada but they know it’s annoying otherwise they’d park it outside their mate’s.

DanielRicciardosSmile · 29/03/2022 18:24

Can't see a diagram, just a message to someone called Ken who has a fundamental misunderstanding of how Illustrator works...

malmi · 29/03/2022 18:25

It's been 5 years, I'm sure Ken has figured it out by now.

Juststopamoment · 29/03/2022 18:27

SirChenjins Exactly! I just don’t understand what their thinking is?! Let’s not block our friend but let’s block the neighbour instead! And then not understand why I get pissed off! House 2 don’t even use their car during the week so it’s not going to be a problem for them.
