To be worried about the amount of sickness bugs my sons had?

Ds is 2.9. He had his first sickness bug in September. Another in a October and one in December. He had his 4th last weekend. Fully recovered for a week and then has started being sick again today which makes number 5!!

What is going on? I try my best to bleach everything when he's sick, wash all towels and bedding etc.

I never tend to catch it although dh has managed to catch 3 out of the 5 so far... that could be down to the fact I wash my hands like a crazy person at the first sign of a bug.

But surely 5 sickness bugs in 6 months isn't normal? After the first 3 I asked for some tests to be done so we're waiting on him getting some blood tests.

Anyone else had anything similar with their dc?

Did he start nursery in September by any chance?

I was thinking the same as a PP, did he start nursery in September? My little boy 2.5 years has had 1 stomach bug so far but he's with a childminder. He 100% got it from toddler group as the other little boy he goes with was ill too but the childminder was fine.

I have heard they're much more prevalent at nursery.

He started nursery in June. I know it's normal to catch all sorts from nursery but I don't think I've had 5 sickness bugs in my whole life never mind in 6 months.

Have you spoken to the nursery or any other parents? You're unlikely to be the only ones suffering if it's coming from there. I'd definitely err towards them being fresh infections if your husband has caught 3 out of 5. If it was something specific to your son then in theory no one else should have gotten ill.

That doesn't seem like a reasonable number of infections to me and personally I'd be looking and moving nursery or moving to a childminder if it looks likely that the nursery is the source of the bugs.

I haven't spoken to the nursery. Do you think it's worth sending them a message? Should I just ask if other children are having the same problem?
