I currently work in a leadership position in a small company. Due to a significant and unexpected bereavement a few months ago, I am finding work increasingly hard and struggling to be engaged.

I have made a decision to step back a bit for a while as my priority has to be my family - I have a limited amount to give right now and why I do have should go to them as much as possible.

I have seen several jobs advertised that are leas senior but perfect - I have all the right experience and qualifications.

But I am struggling with how to address taking a step down in my covering letter - any jobs I apply for will very obviously be a step down so I do need to address it but I have no idea how Confused

(I am also worried that potential employers will think I won’t hang around long this isn’t a short term move, I may look to move back up again career wise in a few years but for the next few I want to do something with less responsibility.)
