Barking dog

We are a semi detached house. They have a dog next door that never stops barking if there is no one in the house. We have told them and they put the dog in the farthers room away from us. So that is good.
But we can still hear the dogs bark if and it is constant until someone comes home which can be up to 8 hrs.
If we step out into the garden it starts we cant do anything.
We have complained but nextdoor are becoming very aggressive, say8nv they have done all that they can.
But surely if the dog is barking for up to 8 hours at a time then I think it needs help.
Should I report it ?

Yes report it, so many bad dog owners out there these days. A dog should not be left home alone for 8 hours a day, especially if it spends those 8 hours barking

A dog must be incredibly distressed barking for that length of time. I'd record it and send it to the local council environmental health, and to the RSPCA.

Some dog owners are horribly cruel.

They shouldn’t be leaving a dog alone for 8 hours. And yes, if you’ve politely asked them about the issue and it’s not resolved, I think your next step should be the council. I’m the owner of a barking dog BTW and really feel for my neighbours.
