Quick help needed please! Hermes/Vinted as a seller

I have a parcel to send for an item I've sold on Vinted. Its with hermes - I've tried two different shops and they keep telling me that I need a QR code (which I either don't have or can't find). I have the shipping label with the barcode and that's it. There's no QR code in the email or on the shipping label. Is there any way I can send them without it costing me money?

Thank you!

Have you stuck the shipping label to the parcel? AFAIK the qr code is to print a label in store.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 24/03/2022 13:05

What are the shipping instructions? I've not used Hermes but do use royal mail, inpost and UPS. Each time I make a sale there is shipping instructions of exactly what to do.

If you've printed off the shipping label you just attach that to the parcel and hand in at the counter. They should scan the barcode and give you a receipt. The QR code is to print a label in store.

Notadramallama · 24/03/2022 13:09

I've never needed a QR code. Just printed and attached the label to the parcel and hand it over.

@WeirdlyKind for Hermes you have to print the label and take it all wrapped up and ready to go to the parcel shop. You can't download a shipping label in the shop itself

RebeccaCloud9 · 24/03/2022 13:14

@Kayjay2018 you absolutely can print it off in store for hermes, it's what I usually do. Not sure if Vinted Hermes give you the qr code for that option though.
@WeirdlyKind for Hermes you have to print the label and take it all wrapped up and ready to go to the parcel shop. You can't download a shipping label in the shop itself
So for hermes (or evri as its now called) this is wrong - if you purchase shipping directly from them you can chose either print at home (in which case they email you the label) or print in store (in which case the email you a qr code, you scan it at the shop, and it prints off a label there). So both options are available.

However with vinted if you have chosen hermes as your carrier it will ONLY email you the shipping label, you don't get the option to print in store. If you look on vinteds FAQ it tells you the way to get around this is to cancel the sale, tell seller to choose "alternative shipping method" and then you buy the shipping yourself so you can chose the "print in store" option and the seller then refunds you.

thevassal · 24/03/2022 13:22

To be honest I would just go to your library or see if a friend will print the labels out for you as a one off then alter your delivery options to not include hermes for next time. Otherwise your only option is to cancel the sale and ask the seller to rebuy, as above.

Kayjay2018 · 24/03/2022 13:36

@RebeccaCloud9 for Vinted you have never been able to print off in store. It advises you you have to print at home and frequently comes up as a question in there forums. Would be good if they changed that when moving to Evri. For non Vinted parcels you can do in store but the OP said it was a Vinted parcel so I gave the advice that I have seen on Vinted

WeirdlyKind · 24/03/2022 13:43

Thank you! I'll print the label at home and drop them off. So frustrating because with Yodel I can scan the barcode and the shop prints the label.

Much appreciated!
