To ask for effective skin creams/treatments that help red, sun damaged skin

DH has patches of red, sun damaged skin on forehead and cheeks. He previously saw a dermatologist and got some acid burning stuff that did nothing.

Since then, he uses a Paula's Choice cream, but I can't see it doing much.

Any thoughts welcome, it's getting worse (and yes he does wear sun protection)

Do you mean sun burn or pigmentation?

Sun. He has incredibly fair skin and it's historic damage, I guess. Hardened, red patches

If it is historic sun damage causing it, I had an issue with this with brown pigmentation which got worse in the sun, I’m not sure if what you are describing is the same.

The treatment I used was called Obagi which was prescribed by a clinic and was very expensive and also a strict regime of using the products twice daily for I think 3 months. You also have to avoid the sun. It was very effective and I saw results quite quickly so I would definitely recommend.

Could it be rosacea or sun allergy though? What did the dermatologist say?
