Currently got a strange head cold, that’s making me feel spaced out/ just not right , this is about my third variation of cold since Xmas! Is anyone else finding its bug after bug at the moment?

YES! We had COVID straight after xmas and none of us have been right since. I know what you mean about the head could too. I have just recovered from it and I felt like I was mentally trudging through treacle the entire week. Just all spaced out on not really thinking straight.

Yes, maybe not a cold but sore throat/runny nose every few weeks for 2-3 days and then it goes away?

My DH had COVID last week and a had a proper cold from the day he was positive …

My theory is that whenever I’m exposed to COVID (which must be very often as A LOT of family/friends were ill lately) I’ve got an immune response (sniffles etc) but I always test negative (I had COVID in April 2020 and I reckon I’ve got the antibodies 😁)

Yes! So fed up now 😔 and if it's not me it's my husband or daughter. Just feels neverending

DementedPanda · 22/03/2022 11:42

Yes, I feel like I've had a permanent cold for months. However my b12 is in my boots and starting a course of injections this week. Hope that perks me up.

Rainydays55 · 22/03/2022 11:43

Glad I’m not the only one!! It is getting very frustrating!

No

whoruntheworldgirls · 22/03/2022 11:44

Yep 4th one since Nov, all have lasted longer than they used to too despite taking Vit D, and multi vits.

gingerhills · 22/03/2022 11:45

Yep. Covid in early Feb and barely left the house since. Constant fog of exhaustion, hacking cough, streaming nose and eyes, dizziness, nausea, weak and trembling. Unable to do my usual fitness classes so gone all wobbly and chubby. Barely able to work (freelance) so income has dropped. I am so fed up of it I nearly cried with frustration last week.

Out tonight, meeting up with old friends and I'm already wondering how I'll stay awake past 8pm.

SO fed up of it.

Do you know I never thought of that. Must be the same for me?
avocadotofu · 22/03/2022 11:54

Yes I've never had so many colds, it's so exhausting and frustrating!

megletthesecond · 22/03/2022 11:56

No. I've not been ill since Nov 2019. (I'll probably get covid tomorrow).

Sofiegiraffe · 22/03/2022 12:00

Yes. My 11 month old and I are just passing germs back and forth between us. Since January between us we have had Covid, chest infections, tonsillitis, and random tummy bugs. It's absolutely exhausting. Especially as I went back to work from mat leave in January - I've spent several days home with illness (either me or her) already!

Thatswhyimacat · 22/03/2022 12:03

@Mummytobe93 I think I've had a similar thing - when I had covid I had a lump in my throat and a headache and I seem to occasionally get it again without ever testing positive, I also wondered if it was a response to exposure!

yossell · 22/03/2022 12:09

Yes! Relieved to see it's not just me.

I've not had covid -- or, at least, the tests have all come back negative. But since November I've had some kind of cold every 4-6 weeks. They've not been too serious, though. It's been baffling.

I've wondered whether I'm getting the various Covid variants which my body is then fighting off quickly due to it having the anti-bodies through the jabs. But I'm no medical expert....

I've wondered this, I had covid in September and a booster just before Christmas, had an outbreak at work and didn't test positive at all despite working closely with people who were, but felt rough (put it down to the increased work) but testing every day and PCR twice a week at that point. I've been exposed again and we are testing before each shift and I feel rough, like a cold starting, but still testing negative. I've wondered if I'm having an immune response and fighting it off because I have antibodies present but don't actually develop covid itself. No idea if there's any scientific basis for thinking that though!
Gilly12345 · 22/03/2022 12:13

Definitely anyone shows cold symptoms should do a covid test, my Daughter had what she thought was a cold last Friday and tested positive on Saturday morning, we tested negative on Saturday and Sunday but on Monday I tested positive and have a cold, achy head and cough.

Maverickess · 22/03/2022 12:14

Or I've wondered if it's just the usual bugs going round that we've managed to mainly avoid until restrictions have been dropped and people are back to normal now, so we're just not used to it?

BorgQueen · 22/03/2022 12:50

I haven’t felt right since January, I had awful bronchitis and was coughing for 6 weeks solid, I do lft’s every week anyway as DD is a teacher and I look after DGS 3x a week, I’ve put it down to him being in nursery, he currently has chicken pox and DD has covid after managing to dodge it for two years!
I’ve had the muzzy, spinny head thing since Sunday, I took some certrizine in case it’s hay fever but it had no effect other than giving me a parched mouth and throat.
