To ask if you had upset stomach and bone pain with covid?

motormouth89 · 21/03/2022 14:23

Tested positive for Covid for the first time this morning after being sick Saturday night, awful bone pain and a banging headache all night last night kept me awake. Diarrhoea, can't keep any food down.

From what I can gather, these aren't common symptoms and I'm wondering if I have D&V bug too?

Yes I've lost 8 pounds in a week, can't taste anything or smell and anything i do eat goes straight through me. Also had the bone pain especially in my hips pelvis and legs. First negative test today and stomach is a little better

RewildingAmbridge · 21/03/2022 14:26

Oh yes and the blinding headache. Also dizziness and fatigue. Not much of a cough. DH has more traditional symptoms

motormouth89 · 21/03/2022 14:27

@RewildingAmbridge sound exactly the same. My hips, pelvis and legs are killing me. I hope you are better soon x

My children had vomiting with covid, and eldest had an awful headache. I hope it passes quickly for you.

RewildingAmbridge · 21/03/2022 14:28

@motormouth89 I'm on day 8 now, still feel shattered and dizzy, stomach is a little better, the headache and bone pain was at its worst the first few days, mainly feel tired and groggy now

Givemeallthegin8 · 21/03/2022 14:30

I had v&d for 24 hours when I had Covid , think I was on day 6/7 . Absolutely awful but turned a corner after that . Plenty of fluids and rest if you can

singlepringlenotbychoice · 21/03/2022 14:31

Yes I tested positive after only having the mildest thickly throat. Within 6hours I could hardly move off the side because every single joint ached and it felt like my bones were rubbing together. I also had the worse diarrhoea and cramps but only if I ate. I felt rough so wasn't wanting much to eat and didn't really feel hungry. The diarrhoea was the last symptom to go away and lasted for a full 12days.

I lost 16lb thanks to covid, and my appetite still hasn't returned to normal.

I also had quite bad vertigo and headaches which are still hanging around 2 weeks later

sasparilla1 · 21/03/2022 14:32

Yes! My bones literally ached throughout my body, and I couldn't get warm.

Upset stomach started around day 4 I think.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Sahgah · 21/03/2022 14:32

I currently have covid now, had terrible headaches (on par from when I had meningitis) I also had severe vomiting. Spent 10 hours vomiting ALL day. Those symptoms eased off after a day but have been totally floored and can barely do much before getting extremely fatigued and dizzy. I’m on day 4 now and it’s getting better each day but I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy

VividVoltage · 21/03/2022 14:34

Tested positive yesterday, main symptoms so far:

  • dizziness/light-headedness, I feel like I'm flying and the room is spinning
  • breathless spells, its not constant and it doesn't last long but every so often I feel like all the air has been sucked out of me and I need to concentrate on taking slow, even breaths until it passes
  • also diarrhoea, anything I eat is very quickly gone, and I feel nauseous but haven't actually been sick
  • can't taste or smell anything, I get texture but no flavour whatsoever, I haven't got much of an appetite either
  • aches in my arms, legs, and upper back
  • headache that feels like a slow throb
  • weepy and emotional, strong case of the can't-be-bothered's
  • dryness, I'm so dry and itchy and bleh. The skin on my hands and around my nose is dry, my lips are dry and chapped, my mouth is dry no matter how much I drink, even my hair is dry. It's like I'm dessicated.

I don't like it and would like to be better now please.

Bluejeansbaby · 21/03/2022 14:34

Yeah the same. I’d say overall I have a mild version but sore hips/ legs- feel like I’ve climbed a mountain! Not been sick but diahorrea and cramps.

20viona · 21/03/2022 14:38

I had diarrhoea on Tuesday night and then I had a banging headache on Wednesday and tested positive on Thursday so I believe that an upset stomach can be the case.

Rowgtfc72 · 21/03/2022 14:39

I have the headache, diarrhea, bone aches. And a negative test.
Dh has everything bar the diarrhea and a positive test!

motormouth89 · 21/03/2022 14:39

Thank you everyone.

Hope you all feel better soon. Not nice is it! The bone pain is on par of when I had swine flu and was hospitalised! Horrible.

Yes is very common , both from own experience and other people's

SartresSoul · 21/03/2022 14:40

Mum’s partner did when he had it in 2020, I think gastrointestinal side effects are common.

SweetsAndChocolates · 21/03/2022 14:41

Yes, lost enough weight for everyone to comment (I have to focus on the positives 😂).
Awful headache, with horrid back, hips and leg pain.

Third week, everything else has settled, but back and head seem to come and go, fatigue and feel quite weak. Hoping it all ends soon.

Westfacing · 21/03/2022 14:41

A friend tested positive on Sunday and is currently suffering with those symptoms. Hope you feel a bit better soon.

SweetsAndChocolates · 21/03/2022 14:42

Sorry forgot to add, vomiting first day, and for 2 weeks had loose bowels, finally that has all settled.

PatchworkElmer · 21/03/2022 14:43

DC had stomach pain (but no actual D&V). My friend was vomiting for 2 days with it.

futuremoneyinbank · 21/03/2022 14:44

No D&V for me, just dizzy, sore spine, chesty cough - though not at all continuous - and it began with a sore throat. I am struggling with the tiredness tbh as I can't relax and have to walk the dog (v.remotely) for at least 4 miles a day regardless. I'm fully vaccinated though so wonder if that's why I have had mild symptoms?

WorkEvent · 21/03/2022 14:44

I had terrible aching in my legs, lower back and pelvis for a couple of days but wasn’t really unwell after that. My son vomited a couple of times and had loose stools although he almost always vomits when he has a temperature.

Halo1234 · 21/03/2022 14:47

I had stomach cramps and upset stomach when I had covid. But not really any other symptoms. It didn't last long...3 days maybe.

Sunpotter · 21/03/2022 14:52

yes! Main symptoms were bone pain, headache and exhaustion, with stomach cramps on the worst couple of days. I didn't match my expectations of covid at all, if it was the days before tests I would have thought I had something else.

Felt a bit embarrassed having time off work when so many other people just WFH with a slight cough. I had no cough at all.

Hobbesmanc · 21/03/2022 15:53

My first symptom was horrible nausea and then puking. Then the achey body. That was day one of testing positive- I test daily for work. I lost my sense of smell completely. I didn't have a high temp or the cough. I was feeling better by day three and tested negative on day 5. Fully vaxed and boosterted
