Option 1:

Stay in 2 bed first floor flat in home town of 15 years.

Option 2:

Move to a 3 bedroom house in a little village about 45 mins away. I will have to reapply for school in that area etc.

I have always been desperate to get away from my home town due to a number of reasons, now that has become a reality I'm shitting myself. The exchange is almost final (council swap) I will be reliant on buses to the main town about 20 mins away until I get a car (I have a licence)
The easier option is to obviously stay put, but that could mean being stuck in my flat with DD who is 4 for years as swapping a flat for a house is very difficult.

What would YOU do? Yes I have friends here, (no family only DD's relatives) there's all the local amenities etc. I'm worried I've become too comfortable in my little bubble here.

Help!

I'd go with option 2

Go. You will be kicking yourself if you don't move. As a pp said, if you don't settle you will have the option to move back in the future.

Option 2
