I'm sure there are many decent policemen out there. But I also think there's a proportionately high rate of corruption and crime amongst them. My colleague worked most his career in the police and said the number of policemen having affairs is crazy high. Obviously it's not against the law but I think it's indicative of their character.
I'm not surprised a very male, dominant and "powerful" professional has many abusers in it. It's a great way to hide your crime and also lends itself well to those who want to assert authority over others.
I can only imagine how helpless a victim would feel as it would feel impossible to report and proceed with it ☹️ there's no place for bullies and low life's in the police force.
