Mandatory vaccines for Care Staff revoked

From 15th March 2022.

This is brilliant news! So sad for all those valuable staff that lost their jobs. There is a huge crisis in care. My own son lives in a residential setting and some truly wonderful staff lost their jobs. He’s been home several times this year when staffing levels fell below what is deemed safe. I really hope this eases the pressure on residential settings.

@daisyjgrey

What is your AIBU?
Aibu to think it was a stupid decision in the first place. Thousands of excellent staff lost their jobs. There is now a real crisis in care and this decision didn’t help matters.

Good!!

My MIL was sent home from an 8 week stay in hospital and due to lack of care staff there were no carers for her at home.
She can’t walk unaided, can’t reach the toilet, can’t lift a kettle and can’t reach the tap as she’s wheelchair bound.
They’d lost her emergency call alarm so if she fell she couldn’t call for help.
Ambulance men parked her in her lounge and left.
We only found out as we’d called the hospital to check on her. It took the ward 45 mins to realise she had gone home, despite them organising it

Good.

It was always a totally stupid policy. So sad for the care staff who lost their jobs.
