WIBU when my son comes back from nursery later (he's being dropped off) to put him in front of YouTube for the foreseeable future? I have a high temp, my head is killing me, I'm dripping in sweat, I've been vomiting, I'm exhausted. I feel so, so unwell. I don't know how I'm going to cope with him whilst I'm this sick without completely neglecting him. I have nobody to take him overnight. Any ideas fellow parents?

Of course that’s not Bu. Do whatever helps- TV, delivery food.
Hope you feel better soon.

Do whatever you have to do. It's fine. It's not neglect. It'd just a few days of extra screen time while you get your strength back.

Thinkrr999 · 17/03/2022 11:34

I'm struggling to even move. Even the light from my phone screen under my duvet hurts my eyes.

Yes. Do whatever you have to.

Order uber eats if you need. Or do a Deliveroo of a few ready meals that you can microwave and sandwich pack for his packed lunch tomorrow. Clean those teeth and ready for bed early.

Sit him on a tablet on you tube/ CBeebies etc in your bed if need be . Or in his bedroom with his toys and the baby alarm in your bedroom. Shut the door so he stays in his bedroom or your bedroom (you can put him back to his bed later) , incase you fall asleep.

For you : your Drink plenty water , take paracetamol and go to bed to sleep it off as much as you can. If you're asthmatic, find your blue inhaler

Or have cup of soup and bread and butter for tea. Icecream too
That's what we lived on with sore throats with covid for a few days...

I hate sickness as a lone parent, I have 4 kids and I’m lone parent as well, seriously just do what you can to survive. People knock them but this is when iPads come in handy! I have no one to take mine either. Hope you are better soon

You poor thing. Are you taking 8 paracetamol a day? Can you take ibuprofen?

Just do anything that gets you through. My kid is older but I had it a few weeks ago. Ordered food in, let them have unlimited screen time, naps beside them while they played. Whatever it takes. No housework got done. That all can be done once you are better, hopefully soon.

Cold wet flannel on forehead?
